Nexus RV was founded in 2010 by Claude Donati and a lifelong friend, at the height of the Great Recession. With support from local business leaders and private investors, Claude launched Nexus with a simple but bold vision: build motorhomes the right way, with integrity, strength, and care for the customer.
From the beginning, Nexus RV stood out. In its first year alone, more than 2,000 visitors toured the company’s 10 acre facility, drawn by a product that quickly earned a reputation as one of the best in its class. For the first eight years, Nexus sold factory direct, allowing Claude and his team to work closely with customers and gain firsthand insight into what RV owners truly value, and what they don’t.
That direct relationship shaped everything that followed. Nexus expanded into multiple states and additional motorhome classes, all while refining designs based on real world feedback. This customer first experience became a cornerstone of the company’s philosophy and its commitment to building dreams, not just RVs.
In 2018, Nexus transitioned to a national dealer network, partnering with select dealers across North America to bring its products closer to customers while maintaining the same focus on quality and service. Today, Nexus RV is known for its durable construction, including high strength all steel cage framing and Azdel composite materials, eliminating wood from sidewalls and roofs for greater strength, lighter weight, and improved insulation.
In 2025, Claude Donati partnered with a billion dollar steel company our of South Bend that has over two billion dollars in annual operations, acquired full ownership of Nexus RV. With this foundation, Nexus is focused on continued growth through improved product offerings, enhanced quality, and a long term vision built on trust, innovation, and craftsmanship.

After years of doubling our business and introducing many new products, we decided in 2018 to share our unmatched product features and benefits with the entire country. This unbelievable market growth has spurred Nexus RV to offer our great brands to the dealerships and retail customer alike with a superior built motorhome. Specifically, we build our product with the most durable and progressive construction in the business beginning with our High Strength Low Alloy Steel Cage framing providing 72% more strength than products built with Aluminum. Also, we use no wood products in our sidewalls and roof by using a product called azdel; this product increases the lifespan of your motorhome and prolongs the life of your roof and sidewalls.
Nexus RV has become the largest privately held motorized manufacturer in the industry since selling to the dealer body. We will continue to have an intimate relationship with our customers and provide all the technical information to our customers and dealers, while suppling world class service both before and after the sale. Customers want to be treated like family and they want product that is not simply slapped together in a high-volume environment. Dealerships want product they can sell that has features and benefits that customers want, and they can sell in a large territory.
